Native Tussock Grass

Native tussock grass has elegant displays of silken, creamy-green and flower heads adorn this New Zealand Native Tussock for many weeks over spring and summer. Mass plant on exposed banks or use as container specimen.

Fill a seed tray with Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix. Press mix firmly into tray; water and allow to drain. Sow seed and cover lightly with seed raising mix. Place tray in a warm, shady, sheltered place and mist with water, as required, to keep moist (not wet). Germination times of native seeds vary from 2 weeks to several months. Once seedlings are 3-5cm high, transplant into small individual pots. Grow on until a root ball establishes and transplant into the garden or containers. Cold treatment and growing in a greenhouse will enhance germination. Plant height 1m
