Acacia adunca SEEDS

Acacia adunca seeds grow into a slender, graceful wattle native to the subtropical biome of south-eastern Queensland and north-eastern New South Wales, Australia not Western Australia as sometimes mistakenly cited. This elegant shrub or small tree produces long, narrow, slightly curved phyllodes (modified leaf stalks) the character behind the epithet adunca, meaning ‘hooked’ or ‘curved’ and bears abundant clusters of small, bright yellow ball-shaped flowers in winter to early spring, creating a vivid display against the fine-textured foliage. Family Fabaceae.

Acacia adunca is well adapted to subtropical conditions with dry summers and grows best in well-drained, sandy or gravelly soils in full sun. It is moderately drought-tolerant once established and provides excellent habitat for native wildlife.
