Anthurium papillilaminum is native to the tropical rainforests of Panama, where it thrives in the humid, shaded understory. In its natural habitat, it often grows as an epiphyte on other plants or trees, adapting to varying conditions.
Water
This species prefers consistently moist but well-draining soil. Water the plant when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch, ensuring that the potting mix remains slightly moist without becoming waterlogged. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it’s crucial to allow excess water to drain away and avoid letting the plant sit in standing water.
Light
Anthurium papillilaminum thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light levels, optimal growth and leaf development occur with ample indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can cause leaf scorch and damage the plant’s delicate foliage.
