Ariocarpus lloydii cultivar “TUHAMI GRAY” seeds freshly harvested.
Ariocarpus lloydii cv “Tuhami Gray” is a rare and highly sought-after cultivar that captivates with its unusual, almost prehistoric appearance. Native to the arid regions of northeastern Mexico, this compact cactus forms a tight, low cluster of triangular, chalky-gray tubercles that mimic the color of limestone or weathered rock. The surface is matte and slightly rough, giving it a fossil-like presence that stands out among other succulents.
Collectors prize Ariocarpus lloydii cv “Tuhami Gray” not only for its sculptural form but also for its subtle color tones. Unlike typical green varieties, this cultivar shows off a cool, bluish-gray to silver hue, making it a striking focal point in rock gardens or minimalist containers. It stays low to the ground, rarely exceeding a few centimeters in height, which enhances its geological look. Occasionally, it surprises growers with a soft pink flower in autumn, adding a delicate contrast to its rough texture.
