Dragon Fruit ‘Red’

Rich red skinned-fruit with flesh to match hang from this spiny climbing epiphytic cactus. The best cross-pollinator to improve the yields of other species of dragon fruit. The fruit is very high in the antioxidant lycopene, and this variety is the best for juicing. Fruit appears after pollination of the nocturnal flowers in early summer. Try growing against a north facing wall for radiant heat, especially in cooler climates. Water regularly during summer, less in winter and the cooler months. Allow fruit to ripen on the plant prior toharvest. Best grown on a rose hoop.
