Kyoto Carrot

Stunning scarlet carrots are surprisingly sweet and crisp. Long roots reach 10-12 in length; ruby color develops as they reach half length. This revered Japanese heirloom is delectable fresh from the garden, roasted, steamed, and pickled. Freezes well after blanching. Best planted in fall. 300 seeds minimum Germination: 12-18 days Maturity: 70-90 days Direct sow in late summer-early fall. Gently press scattered seeds into loosened soil. Resow in late summer for a fall crop. Plant in full sun and water consistently. Space plants 2-3 apart in rows 12 apart. Prefers cooler temps.
