One of the more unique members of its family, the Dracaena ‘Janet Craig’ Compacta (or JC) is a slow-growing, low-maintenance houseplant. It features dark green, glossy leaves that grow in a dense, “stacked” rosette pattern on sturdy, cane-like stems. While it shares the elegant, slim profile of other Dracaenas, its tufty foliage is much tighter and more compact, making it an excellent choice for smaller spaces or minimalist dcor.
The “Pom Pom” form is a specially pruned style where dense, bushy tufts of foliage sit atop long, clean, woody stalks. This sculptural look is achieved by cutting the stems at specific heights, which forces the plant to sprout compact new growth from the top. The result is a series of rounded, ball-like canopies that give the plant a clean, architectural silhouette rather than a wild or irregular branching habit.
