The Peperomia Obtusifolia is a variety of Peperomia commonly referred to as The Baby or American Rubber Plant. Originally from South America’s rainforests, it has nothing to do with rubber production. It isn’t in the same family as the “Rubber Plant” Ficus elastica. Instead, it is part of a massive family of peperomia.
The Red-Edged variety is a cousin of the traditional Peperomia obtusifolia. It features the same sturdy, upright growth habit and waxy leaves, but adds a pop of color with signature thin red margins. Its a great choice for those who love the “classic” look but want a bit of extra visual interest.
