Solarscape is the first interspecific impatiens series from seed. Solarscape White Shimmer is a tender perennial, usually grown as an annual, offering late spring through late summer interest. The vibrant, satiny white blooms have a pink center, and both buds and blooms have a very pale bluish pink blush. The flowers cover the plant non-stop all season, adding a tropical appeal to the garden.
The high-performance varieties in the Solarscape series grow well in sun or shade and fill in quickly. Solarscape White Shimmer has a mounded habit of dense foliage with superior disease resistance, especially to impatiens downy mildew. It is shown to best effect when massed in beds and borders or containers and hanging baskets. Solarscape White Shimmer is a great option for brightening areas with dappled sun, such as around the base of trees.
