Sow outdoors from March through to August, extending to September for baby leaf crops. Sow thinly 1.5cm (half an inch) deep directly into the growing position, allowing 30cm (1ft) between rows. For a continuous supply, repeat sowings every fortnight. Early sowings benefit from cloche protection. Thin baby leaf crops to 5cm (2in) apart, harvesting a few leaves at a time, or thin mature plants to a final spacing of 20cm (8in) apart. Keep well watered and weed free to support steady growth.
