Sow seed outdoors in mid to late May, then every two weeks through June, or start them inside and transplant out after the danger of frost has passed. Thyme is a low maintenance plant and prolific once established. It thrives in bright, hot gardens. The ideal soil temperature for germination is 15-21C (60-70F). Sow the dust-like seeds on the surface of a dampened, sterilized seed starting mix under bright light with bottom heat.
