Philodendron gloriosum, often called the Velvet Philodendron, (or known incorrectly as Anthurium Gloriosum) is a slow-growing species prized for its heart-shaped, velvety leaves and striking white veins. Unlike most Philodendrons, this is a crawler, not a climber; it has a thick rhizome that grows horizontally across the soil and should remain partially exposed. Because its foliage is thinner than many hybrids, it requires higher humidity to keep the leaves from crisping at the edges.
