Formerly classified as Hebe salicifolia; now placed in Veronica by POWO. The epithet salicifolia means ‘willow-leaved’, referring to the narrow, lanceolate leaves resembling willow (Salix). Produces upright, bushy shrubs to 1.52 m with long, graceful, tapered racemes of white to pale lilac flowers. Cold-hardy. Family Plantaginaceae.
