Yellow Quill Mammoth Mum

This hardy perennial gets its name from the distinctive petals that surround the eye: long and narrow, slightly fluted, with a spoon-shaped tip. These 3-4″ daisy-like flower heads will bloom all over the aromatic, mounding foliage of this plant. Yellow Quill develops a root system strong enough to outlast even zone 3 winters when planted in the spring, returning stronger the next year. Plant with plenty of space in between to get the full mound effect, whether in a border garden or a container. Deer will avoid Yellow Quill, but butterflies will find it irresistible.
